With a hat tip to Happy Catholic. I’m not at all surprised by the result, particularly not by how close my two high scores are. Maybe St. Ignatius and I have more in common than I’d thought before.
Your result for The Who Would You Be in 1400 AD Test…
The Lord
You scored 11% Cardinal, 59% Monk, 41% Lady, and 65% Knight!

You are of the intellectual breed and yet you are also very interested in war. You are of the aristocracy and head the cavalry a safe distance from the carnage of the front lines. You believe in defeating your enemy with not only might, but also wit.
You scored high as both the Monk and the Knight. You can try again to get a more precise description of either the Monk or the Knight, or you can be happy that you’re an individual.

Your Thinking is Abstract and Sequential
|

You like to do research and collect lots of information.
The more facts you have, the easier it is for you to learn.
You need to figure things out for yourself and consider all possibilities.
You tend to become an expert in the subjects that you study.
It’s difficult for you to work with people who know less than you do.
You aren’t a very patient teacher, and you don’t like convincing people that you’re right.
|
You know, I could argue a couple of those points, but in the end they’re all pretty true to one extent or another. Some of them painfully so, as a matter of fact. These little quizzettes aren’t supposed to be for deep spiritual insight, but you know God makes use of what He’s given.
H/T to Servant and Steward.

Which famous author/poet are you? created with QuizFarm.com |
| You scored as William Shakespeare
You are most like William Shakespeare, considered to be the greatest writer in English. Mystery surrounds his life, but scholars know he had a wife and family, who was not around much because he was in London writing and directing plays at the famous Globe Theater, where he produced plays that everyone of any background could enjoy. His sonnets show his mastery of style. His plays show his insight into human nature, as he has created some of the greatest characters in all of literature. His works are too many to list, but some include “Hamlet,” “MacBeth” and “Twelfth Night.”

You are brilliant and incredibly learned. Anything you know is well researched.
You like to make lists and sort through things step by step. You aren’t subject to whim or emotions.
Your friends see you as a constant source of knowledge and advice.
(But they are a little sick of you being right all of the time!)
You excel in: Leadership positions
You get along best with: The Semi-Colon

Speaking of my wifely-dearest, I’m sure she’d agree that she’s sick of me being right all the time. Right honey? Ah well. I wonder how long it’ll take before I can lure her into the exquisite joy that is St. Blogs.

You Are Black Pepper
|

You may be considered ordinary by some, but you’re far from boring.
You elevate the mood of any discussion, and people miss you when you’re not around.
You are secretly very dominant and powerful. Most can only take you in small doses.
|
Which is actually quite funny when one takes into account how much black pepper my father uses prior to eating. Anything. The one time in my life I saw him eat fried eggs, they were black – and not because they were burned.

Apparently, I’m Anselm. An interesting choice if I do say so myself. The questions were somewhat leading, but you pretty much have to expect that from an Internet quiz. I am rather surprised, none the less, that my Barth score was higher than my Augustine score. Maybe if I take it again…

Which theologian are you? created with QuizFarm.com |
| You scored as Anselm
Anselm is the outstanding theologian of the medieval period. He sees man’s primary problem as having failed to render unto God what we owe him, so God becomes man in Christ and gives God what he is due. You should read ‘Cur Deus Homo?’

Or so says this site:

Somehow I’m writing above my education level. Of course that same site rated Deacon Greg as a high schooler, so that leaves a little to be desired. Maybe it’s because he posts snips from the New York Times…

I’ll let Deacon Greg fill in the details of this quiz. I’m not completely excited about the wording of a few of the questions but I was pretty pleased with the result:
Your model of the church is Sacrament. The church is the effective sign of the revelation that is the person of Jesus Christ. Christians are transformed by Christ and then become a beacon of Christ wherever they go. This model has a remarkable capacity for integrating other models of the church.
Sacrament model — 72%
Mystical Communion Model — 61%
Herald Model — 56%
Institutional Model — 56%
Servant Model — 22%
I can only guess that I scored low on the “Servant Model” because of the “social justice” (as in “Jesus was a social worker”) wording of some of the questions which just tweaks me the wrong way. As a commenter on Deacon Greg’s blog pointed out, these are certainly not the only models of the Church. But then, this is an Internet quiz and not an entrance exam.

You’re St. Theodora!
Theodora was the wife of the ninth-century emperor Theophilus and mother of the future emperor Michael III. Theodora ruled the lands after her iconoclastic husband died. She labored to overturn his heretical policies, chiefly by summoning a council that upheld the veneration of images of Christ and the saints. For this, she is herself honored as a saint by the Orthodox Church. Her feast day is February 11.
Find out which Byzantine ruler you are at The Way of the Fathers!
Mike Aquilina’s done it again. Something tells me I could have done an awful lot worse than Theodora! I wonder how all-things-Byzantine-lover Dale Price would score?
